How Much Does It Cost to Run an Appliance in Dubai?
Every appliance's running cost depends on three things: its power draw in watts, how many hours a day it runs, and the rate you pay DEWA per kilowatt-hour. The formula is simple — power (W) × hours ÷ 1000 gives daily kWh, multiplied by your rate gives the daily cost. This tool extends that to monthly and yearly figures so you can see which appliances quietly dominate your bill. In Dubai the usual culprits are air conditioners, water heaters and pool pumps, which run long hours through the hot months. The default 0.29 AED/kWh blends DEWA's lower slab rate with the fuel surcharge; adjust it if your household sits in a higher consumption slab.
